My first painting, is not really a painting. It is a word, and I did not use paint.
I have a tattoo of the word NOCERE ( to Suffer ) To get my paint, I used a blade to cross out the NOCERE tattoo An expression of ‘no more suffering’ but causing pain in the process And as this is a beloved tattoo, psychological suffering Perhaps through this act, the tattoo now means more
I took blood from my arm to create the word PAIN on the canvas I then mixed water and blood to draw a cross Which appears as a T, transforming the word into PAINT Both words can be seen at once
PAIN is good PAINT I knew that blood would drip, so I created a second piece to catch the blood ‘The most Beautiful Deception’ written in black… Again, although paint was used, this is not a painting
I did not use a palette, I used a sheet for the third consequential part of this expression As I took black paint from the palette, the image of Charlie, my pet Crow, took shape Under which I wrote, ‘Bandage the Blade with Love.’
At the end, I did not tend to my cut, I bandaged the blade and placed it behind the main canvas with the bloody paint brush
Following this I wrote the poem, PAINt I folded this poem and also placed it behind the main canvas as part of the piece I recorded this poem to recite over the final film
I filmed everything The film allows me to share this sacred and ceremonial act This piece is about the message, the deeper and hidden meanings ( Meta, Metamodern, Ironic, Controversial, Sensitive, Political, Spiritual ) This piece is an all-encompassing expression It is not just the blade, it is not just the blood It is everything included in the expression as a statement It is an act of revolution against Art, Meaning, Madness and Mortality
This piece will be air-tight framed and isolated It will either appear at my first exhibition, at which I will offer more of my Art and a Performance Piece Or, it will be sold to a gallery or collector who feels the call to invest in my expressions from the start
My first piece is with my blood My last will be my life? And everything in-between will be priceless
