THE DECEPTION

The set includes two BURN Tools made by Eoin O’Hare of The Perfect Shuffle to Madison’s specifications. Each tool is as thin as a single playing card and weighs less than a gram, allowing both tools to fit inside a tuck box with a deck and still leave room for more. The tools are designed to help you create burn revelations on a playing card, where the burn marks take the shape of a selected or thought-of card. These revelations can also be made to appear on other objects, including business cards and the tuck box.

The tools allow you to apply burn revelations for eight cards: 7 of Clubs, 7 of Hearts, 2 of Clubs, 2 of Hearts, 3 of Diamonds, 3 of Spades, 5 of Diamonds, and 5 of Spades. In performance, a participant selects or thinks of a card, and a separate playing card is held over an open flame. As the card begins to burn, the marks are seen to form into the identity of the selected card. In the included e-book, workshop, and masterclass, Madison teaches the preparation, handling, care, and performance of BURN in detail, along with variations and ideas for developing your own presentations.

For practical performance, duplicates are recommended for the burn revelation cards. This is a limited edition release of only 50 units.
