52 - ANNOTATED HARDBACK - Madison One Entry

This is a MADION ONE Entry for my personal and fully annotated, hardback ( with dustcover ) copy of 52

After publishing this book, and whilst spending time with this very hardback copy, I realised that my attempt to simplify the explanations of 52 of my favourite deceptions had minimised their potential in a way that I could not foresee when writing.  The concept of this book was to strip back everything but the core deception and the method to achieve it, with no tangents, philosophy, psychology or theory.  At the time, guided by the response to my tutorials, I convinced myself that students wanted nothing but the method, and that my thoughts and opinions were only in the way.

Although proud of this book, in my first read of this very copy I realised the error of my way and started to write my notes as a means to plan for a follow-up version of the book that did the opposite, going into the deeper ends of every tangent of each deception.  As I took notes, I ended up with this very annotated book, motivated from a lesson from the cold school of experience that the devil is in the detail, and that which is learnt from the cold school - the psychology, the philosophy, the tangents - might just be the most important part.  This did not lead me to a deeper version of this book, but it instructed my teachings from that day on.

This book had its moment in time with me.  And now as I grow - even though sideways - it’s a goodbye that finds me at the right time, and I hope that it finds a way to its deserving owner.
